MotoServiceKit

Our fitment policy

AI never writes fitment on MotoServiceKit. Every published compatibility line must have a human verifier and a source document. This applies equally to a positive match and a statement that a part is incompatible. Automated suggestions cannot enter the trusted compatibility record by themselves.

The site has no published fitment catalogue yet. Data collection has just started, and these requirements define the threshold for future entries. A merchant offer may be collected before compatibility is established. Its presence does not authorise a fitment claim.

Identify the vehicle and the evidence

A review must establish the relevant motorcycle version, including model year and market where those distinctions matter. The part and service item must also be identifiable. The reviewer records the source document and the section supporting the decision, along with who verified it and when.

A model-family name alone is insufficient. An ambiguous part number, a missing year range, or a document for another market requires further checking. We will withhold a match when the available evidence cannot support the required level of detail. We do not invent specifications to make a listing complete.

Conflicts and revisions

Documents can disagree or become outdated. Superseded part numbers need explicit evidence of the replacement relationship. A previous approval can be revoked when new information undermines it; the old evidence remains part of the history. A revised claim requires another review rather than silently inheriting the earlier approval.

Before ordering, confirm your motorcycle's identity and the merchant's exact part number. Use the manufacturer's service information and appropriate professional help for maintenance work. A compatibility record is not an installation guide. The methodology explains how source archives and offer dates support this policy.
